Director Sunny Minedew has produced a diverse collection of regional programs focusing on Nevada’s culture and heritage. Among topics, her features on wild horses, ghost towns, Truckee Meadows Habitat for Humanity, the Reno Balloon races, and activities in the Black Rock Desert stand out. Minedew, a long-time volunteer for PBS Channel 5, and Sierra Nevada Community Access Television, has won numerous awards for her productions.

Back to the Burn offers an overview of the many integral components required to bring Black Rock City back each year: community services, art cars, art installations, theme camps, and the Man Base.

Exploring the significance of Burning Man’s 2005 “Psyche” art theme, this films also offers a close look at the Temple of Dreams as artist David Best explains the significance of temples within community building. Also included, Black Rock City DPW Manager Tony “Coyote” Perez offers insight into the unique civic layout and construction required to build this city.
